About me

Hello. I’m Caroline and I know books. I am dedicated to providing a personal, professional and friendly service to writers and publishers. I work with small publishers providing copy editing and project management services and I also work with dozens of writers. I have helped clients shape their manuscripts; submit to agents and publish paperbacks and eBooks independently. I regularly feature in Byte the Book seminars where I advise writers on navigating the publishing world and on independently publishing. I have designed book covers; sourced printers; run social media accounts; created content for author websites; designed logos and created marketing material and merchandise.  I work with other clients as a ghostwriter and I’ve even written some books for publishers myself.

I have twenty-five of experience in trade publishing, and I previously worked at both The Tate Gallery and at Penguin. In 2012, I co-founded an independent publisher, Red Button Publishing with the aim to publish fiction overlooked by the mainstream. For four years my co-founder and I published original fiction in both paperback and digital formats funding and facilitated entirely by ourselves . During this time I came to really understand the challenges faced by authors who decide to publish independently. When we reluctantly closed our doors in 2016, I helped our authors to publish their works independently,  and I took the knowledge I had gained to my client base.

I now spend my days providing services for writers and publishers from my home in the Suffolk countryside. When I’m not doing that, I can usually be found with my head in a book or trying to write that novel I’ve been sitting on for two decades.
